E.L.I.T.E. Student Development Center
 


The Elevating Leadership in the Engineer (ELITE) Student Development Center is a local center for students designed to provide opportunities for advising, mentoring, supplemental instruction, and other student services. The ELITE Center located in McNair Hall, Rm. 341, is a new retention initiative in the College of Engineering. This center is provided in response to feedback from students, employers and alumni.

The goal of the ELITE Center is to exponentially enhance and synergize the student development work currently being done within the departments. There are three main areas of focus for the ELITE Center. They are: personal development and leadership, academic excellence, and career and professional development. Activities such as personal development workshops and Toastmasters will take place in the ELITE Center. The center will serve as a resource hub for all engineering and computer science majors.

The Office of Career Services (OCS) partners with the College of Engineering by providing a career counselor to assists students with career development activities, including an array of career-related workshops and services. These workshops and services include OCS registration, resume development/critiquing, interview preparation and career counseling.

Alumni and corporations can support the ELITE Student Development Center through donations of their time, talent, and financial support.
