K-12 / BRIDGE PROGRAMS |
The faculty and research staffs in the department are actively engaged in enhancing K-12 science and engineering education. The activities are primarily constituted of (a) student-orientated activities and (b) teacher-oriented activities. The student-oriented outreach activity involves tours, camps and workshops for students at all levels from local high schools in Piedmont Triad area. The teacher oriented activity involves six to eights week research projects. All these activities are focused on providing hands-on as well adequate theoretical research experience to the K-12 teachers and undergraduate in the area of nanoscience and engineering motivating them to go for higher education and research in science and engineering at North Carolina A & T.
