8th symposium on human interaction with complex systems 2009 (HICS-2009)
8th symposium on human interaction with complex systems 2009 (HICS-2009)
The 8th Annual Symposium on Human Interaction with Complex Systems will be held April 2-4, 2008 at the Sheraton Norfolk Waterside Hotel, Norfolk, VA. The organization committee invites the participation of researchers from academia, industry and government laboratories. The HICS theme reflects current interests on complex systems and asymmetric command and control (C2) decision-making: people, organization, information technology, and automation.
The organizing committee invites all persons interested in the areas of Human Interactions with Complex Systems, Sensemaking / Decision Making to submit papers for presentation at the conference. The symposium will cover the theory and practice of complexity, human interactions with automation, and making sense of complex information networks. the objective of the conference is to bring together researchers in the field of Complex Systems, Human Interactions and Modeling, and Sensemaking to exchange ideas on their research and applications.
Topics of Interests:
Of interest are all aspects of human interactions, including both basic and applied research in (but are not limited to) the following subject categories:
Operator Decision Aids, Network-Centric Systems Sensemaking, Social Network Analysis, Supervisory Control and Human Performance, Information Display and Visualization, Human Factors & Cognitive Ergonomics, Judgment & Decision Making, Teleoperation, Telerobotics, & Virtual Reality, Intelligent Agents, Systems Theory & Complex Systems, Human-Systems Integration, Information Fusion & Foraging, Human-Machine Complexity, Simulation, and Human Behavior Modeling.
