Lockheed Martin STARS Workshop (Mar 13-14, 2009)

Approximately 50 students braved the rainy weekend to attend the Lockheed Martin STARS Workshop that was held in McNair Hall.

The acronym STARS stands for Students, Tools and Resources for Success. The workshop was hosted by the ELITE Student Development Center and was held on Friday evening, March 13th and Saturday, March 14th. While the participants consisted mostly of undergraduate students, there were several graduate students that participated in the workshop series as well. Even one of our very own professors, Dr. Derome Dunn (MEEN), was in attendance.

The Friday session consisted of an information session, raffle of two-8G Zunes and refreshments. The actual workshop began on Saturday morning at 9:00am and ended at 2:00pm. The workshop was facilitated by two A&T alums: Keisha Hill and Ngina McLean, former engineering students, along with Derek McGowan from Lockheed Martin, NC A&T’s Campus Relation’s Manager. Each participant received a metal lunchbox with topic reminders, certificate, Lockheed Martin backpack and clock (time management). Topics included the following:

  • Interpersonal Communication
  • Presentation Delivery
  • Presentation Content
