As chairperson I would like to express my appreciation and gratitude to the faculty and staff for their hard work and dedication to the department and our students. We are one of five departments in the College of Engineering, and the two programs in the department have long been recognized for the high quality of our academic and research programs.
Chemical Engineering and Mechanical Engineering are core engineering discipline and are central to the College of Engineering and the University's mission and its land grant heritage. The breadth of these two disciplines affords us many natural links to other academic programs within and outside the College of Engineering. These inter- disciplinary links have allowed us to develop strengths in emerging areas of engineering, while maintaining our excellence in more traditional areas.
We invite you to browse our web site and to learn more about our undergraduate and graduate programs, our popular student team projects and competitions, our sponsored research programs, and our talented and highly qualified faculty. Other links on the Home Page point to information of interest to our alumni and friends. We also invite you to get updates on the progress of our building renovations. We're glad you chose to visit our web site, and we hope you'll stay awhile and learn more about us! Our central goal is to continue on this path of excellence in all facets of research, education, and service to the state and the nation. We are proud of our accomplishments and are pleased to share them with you and welcome your involvement in our educational and research activities.
